Omaha's dense bungalow and ranch blocks from Dundee to Millard depend on solid fencing to define property lines, secure yards, and weather the seasons. Omaha Fence Company has installed and repaired wood privacy fences, vinyl, chain link, ornamental metal, and gates across Omaha and the surrounding area since 2015.

Homeowners in ZIP 68114 and across Omaha call us because we show up with the same crew, we work from your property line and your existing survey, and we tell you straight whether a fence repair will hold or replacement makes better sense. We're AFA Member Installers, fully insured, and we've built fences in every neighborhood from west Omaha to Millard.

Fence Installation and Repair in Omaha

Omaha's housing stock ranges from historic Dundee bungalows with original cedar privacy fences to sprawling ranch properties in Millard and west Omaha. Every neighborhood has its own fence rules. Some are governed by HOA architectural standards that control height, material, and color. Others fall under Omaha city code or Douglas County setback and corner-visibility requirements. We know these rules vary block to block, and we work with you to confirm what applies at your address before we bid the job.

Fence posts set in concrete can fail at the ground line where moisture collects, especially on older installations where the post wasn't tamped or sealed properly. We repair fence posts, replace stringers and rails, and restore wood fences with staining and restoration work. We also install new wood and vinyl privacy fences, chain link, aluminum and ornamental iron, gates, automatic driveway gates, pool fencing, and commercial or temporary fencing. Every job starts with a free on-site assessment and a clear estimate.

Since 2015, our team has served Omaha and the surrounding area with fully insured crews for wood and privacy fence installation, fence post repair and replacement, and fence repair across all neighborhoods.

How We Work in Omaha

Step 1: Free Site Assessment. Call us at (531) 541-5896 or contact us online. We visit your property, walk the fence line, identify what needs repair or replacement, check for utility lines (Nebraska 811 locates are required by law before any digging), and confirm setback and HOA rules with you. We give you a realistic estimate and timeline before we commit to anything.

Step 2: The Work. We handle the site setup, utility locates, post holes, concrete setting, framing, and final installation. Whether your lot is tight, your fence runs along a busy street, or your HOA requires specific materials and colors, we work around those constraints. We coordinate with your HOA if approval is needed. We use pressure-treated pine, cedar, vinyl PVC, galvanized or powder-coated hardware, and proper spacing and bracing to make sure your fence stands square and stays that way.

Step 3: Cleanup and Walkthrough. We remove all debris, haul it off, and leave your property clean. We walk the completed fence with you, answer questions, and make sure you understand maintenance (wood needs periodic staining, vinyl needs occasional cleaning, gates need hinges checked seasonally). That's how we work.

Wood and privacy fence installation starts at $27 per linear foot. Vinyl and PVC runs from $38 per linear foot. Chain link is $16 per linear foot. Aluminum and ornamental iron fencing starts at $42 per linear foot. Pool fencing is $34 per linear foot. Farm and ranch fencing begins at $12 per linear foot. Fence repair runs from $450. Fence post repair and replacement starts at $450. Gate installation and repair begin at $475. Automatic and driveway gates start at $2,800. Fence replacement and removal begin at $2,400. Fence staining and restoration start at $950. Storm damage fence repair includes a free damage assessment. Commercial and temporary fencing is quoted by site. Cost depends on the linear footage, material choice, site access, post spacing, whether posts are set in concrete or tamped, gate hardware, and any site challenges like slopes or utility proximity. Call us at (531) 541-5896 for a free estimate on your project.

What's the difference between tamped and concrete-set fence posts in Omaha?
Posts tamped in soil alone will shift and loosen over years, especially where drainage is poor or frost heave occurs. Posts set in concrete stay put much longer and are the standard we use for permanent fences. Concrete-set posts cost more upfront but save you money on repairs and replacement down the road. We recommend concrete setting for all privacy and ornamental fencing.
My fence is leaning. Can you repair it, or do I need a new fence?
It depends on why it's leaning. If the posts are still sound but the rails have sagged, we can re-brace or replace the stringers and straighten the fence without replacing posts. If the posts themselves have rotted or heaved, we replace those posts and re-frame the fence. We inspect on site and tell you which makes sense. Repair is almost always cheaper than full replacement, and we only recommend replacement when the fence is too far gone to justify the repair cost.
Do I need a permit to install a fence in Omaha?
Permit requirements vary by neighborhood and jurisdiction within the Omaha area. Some areas require a permit; others do not. Height, setback, and material rules are set by the city or county building department and may also be governed by HOA rules if you live in a master-planned community. Before we bid your fence, we help you confirm what your address requires. Contact the Omaha building department or your HOA to verify. We handle the permit process if one is needed.
What about utility lines before we dig post holes?
Nebraska law requires a utility locate (Nebraska 811) before any digging for fence posts. We include this in our process. Call 811 or use the online locating service, and utility companies will mark gas, electric, water, and other lines at no cost. We will not dig post holes until the locate is marked and we've confirmed clearance with you. This protects you, us, and the utilities.
My HOA has rules about fence height and material. Can you work within those restrictions?
Yes. We work with HOA architectural standards all the time across Omaha neighborhoods. Bring us your HOA rules, and we design and build to those specs. Most HOAs require approval before installation, and we can help coordinate that conversation. Height, material, color, and post spacing are all negotiable within the rules your HOA sets. Let us know what you're working with, and we'll build it right.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We can provide a certificate of insurance on request before we start work on your property. Every crew member is covered, and your property is protected while we're on site.
What happens if a storm damages my fence?
Call us right away at (531) 541-5896. We offer free damage assessment for storm-damaged fences. We'll inspect the damage, document it with you, and give you a repair estimate. We can help you document the damage for an insurance claim if you have coverage. We do honest repair work and won't oversell you on replacement when repair is the right call.
